Dr. Vandana Sandhir
Dr. Vandana Sandhir, is an
Asian-American. She completed her 6 years Degree in
Bachelor in Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery from Punjab
University, Chandigarh in the year 1995. She also went for
specialization in her chosen field Ayurveda. She was conferred
MD, Ayurvedic Medicine (Kayachikitsa) from Himachal Pradesh
University, Shimla. To excel in the field, she also went for
Certificate course in Yoga, Post Graduate Diploma in Preventive
& Promotive Health Care.
Dr. Sandhir’s primary and research activities are in
the field of Ayurveda, Ancient healing system from India. She
had 15 years of Clinical, 9 years of Teaching, and 4 years of
Administrative experience. She worked as an Assistant Professor,
Department of Kayachikitsa, Government Ayurvedic College, and
Punjab before moving to USA.
Prof. Sandhir honed her Panchkarma skills under tutelage of
various Vaidyas from Kerala, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. She
is an Assistant Editor, “Journal of Research & Education in
Indian Medicine”, an international quarterly journal. She had
been invited as Special Guest speaker at various Ayurvedic
seminars and workshops, within the state of Punjab and outside. In USA, she has been actively propagating this healing
tradition through Lectures, Seminars, and workshops. Presently
she is taking Meditation, Yoga, Ayurveda Classes and doing
Ayurvedic Consultations in the city of Reno.
Dr. Vandana Sandhir was born in Ferozepur, Punjab and brought up
in Chandigarh, India. She lived in beautiful Chandigarh
city for 39 years before migrating to USA. She is a
descendent of a well connected Saraswat Brahmin family from
Punjab.
Dr. Vandana speaks 4 languages. She has a prominent publication
in the CSIR journal, besides other. She had delivered 14
Lectures on various Ayurvedic topics. She is a member of
national and international associations.
