College Tests:

  • Educational Testing Service (ETS). World's largest private educational testing and measurement organization and a leader in educational research.
  • Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) are administered by Educational Testing Service under policies determined by the Graduate Record Examinations Board, an independent board affiliated with the Association of Graduate Schools and the Council of Graduate Schools.
  • Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). Designed to help business schools assess the qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management. It measures basic verbal, quantitative, and writing skills that are developed over a long period of time and is available year-round at test centers throughout the world.
  • SAT I and SAT II Program information: College Board now offers Taking the SAT I: Reasoning Test, the SAT study guide, online.
  • ACT (American College Testing). ACT, Inc., is an independent, not-for-profit organization that provides more than a hundred assessment, research, information, and program management services in the broad areas of educational planning, career planning, and workforce development.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The TOEFL program provides English proficiency testing services for international students planning to study in the United States, Canada, or other countries where English is the language of instruction.
  • College-Level Examination Program (CLEP). The most widely accepted credit-by-examination program in the United States today, helping students of all ages earn college degrees faster by getting credit for what they already know
  • Test Prep Review. TestPrepReview.com is a free service of a nonprofit group of educators.  This website was created to provide free practice test questions for students in a variety of career situations. 
  • Advanced Placement (AP) Program provides motivated high school students with the opportunity to take college-level courses in a high school setting.
  • Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT). An admission test that measures verbal, math and reading comprehension. It has become the common and preferred admission standard for independent schools.
  • Independent School Entrance Examination (ISEE). A three-hour admission test for entrance into grades five through twelve. The test is offered in over thirty metropolitan areas across the country.
  • Law School Admission Test (LSAT). A half-day standardized test required for admission to all law schools that are members of the Law School Admission Council (LSAC).
  • Medical College Admission Test (MCAT). Almost all U.S. medical schools require applicants to submit MCAT scores. Medical college admission committees consider MCAT scores as part of their admission decision process.
  • United States Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE). Results of the USMLE are reported to medical licensing authorities in the United States and its territories for use in granting the initial license to practice medicine.
  • Praxis: Professional Assessments for Beginning Teachers. A set of rigorous and carefully validated assessments that provides accurate, reliable information for use by state education agencies in making licensing decisions.

  • U.S. Department of Education: Information on grants and contracts, financial aid for students, education resources, research and statistics, and policy.
  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). U.S. Department of Education offers a variety of student financial aid programs. To apply for federal student financial aid, and to apply for many state student aid programs, students must complete a FAFSA form.
  • FinAid! The SmartStudent Guide to Financial Aid. This award-winning site has grown into the most comprehensive annotated collection of information about student financial aid on the web.
  • eStudentLoan.com. Learn about financial aid, search for the lowest student loan rates, compare lenders, shop for loans, and apply on-line.
  • Sallie MaeŽ, Planning and Preparing for School. The nation's leading provider of education funding, has helped millions of Americans achieve their dream of a higher education.
  • FastWeb: Free scholarship and college searches plus financial aid tools and more. Helps students make the decisions that shape their lives: choosing a college, paying for college and finding jobs during and after college.
  • Federal Student Aid. The largest source of student aid in America, providing over $60 billion a year in grants, loans, and work-study assistance. Here you'll find help for every stage of the financial aid process, whether you're in school or out of school.
  • Collegeboard.com. A national, nonprofit membership association dedicated to preparing, inspiring, and connecting students to college and opportunity.
  • College Is Possible: American Council on Education. America's colleges and universities have come together to provide the latest, best information on preparing for college, choosing the right college, and paying for college.
  • Students.gov. Student Gateway to the U.S. Government. An interagency cooperative effort that provides students and their families with a gateway to Federal government information and services they need. Sponsored and led by the U.S. Department of Education, and is affiliated with the FirstGov Federal portal.
  • Student Guide: Financial Aid from the U.S. Department of Education. Discusses loans, grants, work-study opportunities for students, as well as application information.
  • Barakat Foundation. Provides financial support for students and scholars of Islamic culture. Operates exclusively for educational purposes, providing scholarships and grants in specific areas of study at accredited world institutions.

Grants and Scholarships:

  • GrantsNet. Database of funding opportunities in biomedical research and science education. For graduate and medical students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty, as well as programs in science, math, engineering, and technology for undergraduate faculty and students.
  • National Council of University Research Administrators. Serves its members and advances the field of research administration through professional development.
  • National Institutes of Health: Grants & Funding Opportunities. One of the world's foremost medical research centers. An agency of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the NIH is the Federal focal point for health research.
  • National Science Foundation: Grants and Awards. The NSF funds research and education in science and engineering, through grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements. The Foundation accounts for about 20 percent of federal support to academic institutions for basic research.
  • Institute of International Education (IIE). Provides detailed descriptions of the institute's 250 grant programs, including the prestigious Fulbright Program. A vast resource for all higher-education students and administrators worldwide.
  • Korean American Scholarship Foundation. A non-profit, volunteer-managed organization established to help meet the financial needs of Korean-American students seeking higher education.
  • The American Association of University Women. A national organization that promotes education and equity for all women and girls.
  • A Brief Grants Seekers Guide. Free grants money, scholarships and loans to individuals from schools, colleges, federal government and private funding.
  • White House Fellowships. America's most prestigious program for leadership and public service. After a highly competitive selection process, 11 to 19 men and women are chosen to serve for a year as White House Fellows.
  • Research Associateship Programs. National Research Council. Awards are made to doctoral level scientists and engineers, and to Postdoctoral Associates (within 5 years of the doctorate) and Senior Associates (5 years or more beyond the doctorate).
  • Friends Research Institute. A non-profit organization providing administrative services for Federal, State, and Private Grants, for medical, drug, and mental treatments, pharmaceutical studies, and more.
