Educational Testing Service (ETS).
World's largest private educational testing and measurement organization and a
leader in educational research.
- Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) are
administered by Educational Testing Service under policies determined by the
Graduate Record Examinations Board, an independent board affiliated with the
Association of Graduate Schools and the Council of Graduate Schools.
- Graduate Management
Admission Test (GMAT). Designed to help business schools assess the
qualifications of applicants for advanced study in business and management.
It measures basic verbal, quantitative, and writing skills that are
developed over a long period of time and is available year-round at test
centers throughout the world.
- SAT
I and SAT II Program information:
College Board now offers Taking the SAT I: Reasoning Test, the SAT
study guide, online.
- ACT (American College Testing). ACT, Inc., is an independent,
not-for-profit organization that provides more than a hundred assessment,
research, information, and program management services in the broad areas
of educational planning, career planning, and workforce development.
- Test of English as a Foreign Language
(TOEFL). The TOEFL program provides English proficiency testing services
for international students planning to study in the United States, Canada,
or other countries where English is the language of instruction.
- College-Level Examination Program (CLEP). The most widely accepted credit-by-examination program in
the United States today, helping students of all ages earn college degrees
faster by getting credit for what they already know
- Test Prep Review. TestPrepReview.com is a free service of a
nonprofit group of educators. This website was created to provide free
practice test questions for students in a variety of career situations.
- Advanced Placement
(AP) Program provides motivated high school students with the opportunity
to take college-level courses in a high school setting.
- Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT).
An admission test that measures verbal, math and reading comprehension. It
has become the common and preferred admission standard for independent
schools.
- Independent School
Entrance Examination (ISEE). A three-hour admission test for entrance
into grades five through twelve. The test is offered in over thirty
metropolitan areas across the country.
- Law School Admission Test (LSAT). A
half-day standardized test required for admission to all law schools
that are members of the Law School Admission Council (LSAC).
- Medical College Admission
Test (MCAT). Almost all U.S. medical schools require applicants to
submit MCAT scores. Medical college admission committees consider MCAT
scores as part of their admission decision process.
- United States Medical
Licensing Exam (USMLE). Results of the USMLE are reported to
medical licensing authorities in the United States and its territories for
use in granting the initial license to practice medicine.
- Praxis: Professional Assessments
for Beginning Teachers. A set of rigorous and carefully validated
assessments that provides accurate, reliable information for use by state
education agencies in making licensing decisions.
